The new version of the mobile app released today, now directs you to the best street food dishes in hundreds of cities throughout North America and the UK, based on customer reviews.

The new version of the Eat St. iPhone App, developed by Invoke and Paperny Entertainment to complement the popular Food Network television series, can now direct you to the best street food dishes in your city, as verified by the experts — street food aficionados like you. Local foodies can snap pictures of a food cart’s individual dishes, rate them and offer tips for the benefit of locals and tourists. A city’s food carts and dishes are ranked, so users can quickly see the must-try dishes locally, in every city in North America.

In ten seconds and three taps, the Eat St. mobile app for iPhone will locate and give directions to the most popular street food vendors in the area. Users can also search vendor listings by proximity, popularity and types of cuisine, and easily find the vendor’s hours, menu, specials and location based on GPS and vendor Twitter feeds. The best part, if the vendor’s appeared on the Food Network’s Eat St. television show, you can watch the segment right there inside of the app.

Every food truck and stand should claim their listings in the app, if one has been created by a customer. Vendors can manage their profile, changing and updating information, as needed. Food truck and food stand operators can easily create listings, if they’re not already listed.

I’ve recommended in previous articles that every vendor should take advantage of free mobile app listings. It’s difficult and time-consuming to establish profiles on multiple apps, so I highly recommend starting with the Eat St. mobile app for iPhone. It’s a great free marketing channel that allows you to push your Twitter feed directly to mobile app users.

Invoke hasn’t announced whether it will release a version of the mobile app for Android.
