The last few weeks are almost a blur as we look back at the incredible people we’ve met, the awesome venues we’ve visited, and of course the delicious foods we’ve sampled. In just a few months time, we’ve conceived this idea, launched the website, and we’re continually packing it with heaping helpings of original content. Then there are the prizes… everyone loves free stuff, and we love rewarding loyal readers with cool stuff! We’ve given away a lunch for two at Wicked ‘Wich, a Sacramento food truck that’s making a very unique impression on our Capitol city, and our latest drawing has people coming to the blog in droves! It’s the Share it to Win it Drawing – The i-Pod Touch 4th Generation drawing finished its first week, and we’re still in awe about the response! Only a few weeks left to go before we draw that lucky winner, so if you haven’t entered yet, what are you waiting for?
As we move forward into the holiday season, we’re turning our attention to giving back. Watch for upcoming announcements on a couple of fundraisers we’ll be sponsoring to help some families in need this year. We’ll be making an announcement on this soon!
We can’t help but to imagine the possibilities for more giveaways, contests, and all of those yummy reviews in our future. We’ll be visiting each of the 78 county fairs throughout 2012, as well as countless food trucks and events. Let’s not forget our mail-order bakers – look for reviews and articles about these sweet treats! And, for those interested in the mobile foods industry, you’ll love the new marketing and industry articles we’re planning.
We’re launching the first issue of “The Dish!” magazine this Fall, and look for our first video to hit our youtube channel in the coming week. The possibilities are endless, and we couldn’t be happier to announce the Stitches ‘n Dishes exhibit at the Western Fair Association’s Imagine 2012 Trade Show and Convention, January 8 – 12 in Anaheim, CA.
Imagine the possibilities as more than 1,200 fair CEOs, directors, staff and fair-related professionals, representing more than 150 fairs, festivals and special events from the western United States and Canada gather in one convenient location for four action-packed days of education, networking and fun at the 89th annual WFA Convention and Trade Show!
Sponsored by Alameda County Fairgrounds, The Big Fresno Fair, RCS, Hot Dog on a Stick, Sonoma County Fair, California State Fair, California Mid State Fair, Kern County Fair, Ventura County Fair, Davis Goldmark Jewelers, Wilson Events, Coca-Cola, etix, Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, Ovations, California Department of Food and Agriculture, CFSA, HELM, Lori’s Concessions, Midway Souvenirs, and San Diego County Fair, this convention will feature keynote speaker, Garrison Wynn who will speak on changing markets and changing times, and featured speaker, Kelly McDonald, a nationally recognized marketing expert, with deep specialization in multicultural and diversity marketing, will speak on new market segmentation.
“I love Western Fairs Association! I had the chance to speak at the Convention two years ago and I am thrilled to be part of the 2012 Convention. I have great new information to share with attendees.” Said McDonald on the convention website.
Education is the primary reason that 1,200 industry professionals gather at the WFA Convention. The association is making a priority to provide members with tools for the future. It’s time to look at things from a different perspective; time to get back to grass roots.
“I am very excited to have Stiches ‘n Dishes as an exhibitor at our 2012 WFA Convention and Trade Show and I believe our industry guests will have a great time getting to know them. It is obvious that they are very passionate about what they do. The WFA Convention and Trade Show will provide Stiches ‘n Dishes with a great networking opportunity to meet with key decision makers in the event industry including fair CEOs and all the major food vendors in the west,” said Carrie Wright, Marketing Director at the Western Fairs Association.
The convention will provide educational workshops focusing on more than a dozen topics, including Building a Volunteer Network, Capturing the Media’s Attention, Forming a Nonprofit, Mobile Marketing: What You Need to Know, and many others.
[cincopa AoLACvqYAjHr]I love trade shows, not only for the convention, workshops, and entertainment, but also for the exhibits. It’s a rare opportunity to meet a massive group of people who are all working with the same goal – supporting the same industry and collectively imagining the possibilities. New foods, new services, new vendors, a ton of information, and lots of fun and entertainment – that’s what it’s all about.
Mark your calendars – January 8-12 at the Anaheim Marriot in Anaheim, CA. Imagine the possibilities with us at Booth 614! Watch for our upcoming announcement of a major prize drawing at the trade show. Make your dreams come true. Extend your convention experience into a hard-earned family vacation. WFA is offering discounted tickets to Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure™ Park January 2-7 and January 11-14. Choose from 1-day, 2-day and twilight tickets (valid after 4 p.m.). To purchase tickets, simply complete the Disneyland® Tickets form on the convention website and return it to Western Fairs Association before December 15.
We’re excited about the possibilities, the new friends and new foods to discover, and Stitch can’t stop wagging his tail.
